Filmens Vovehals - 1923
ABOUT THE FILM : Filmens Vovehals
Emilie Sannom was a Danish daredevil. These compiled film extracts are proof of that. They mixed scenes of action and scenes from the circus and the stunts were often staggering: whether beneath the water or in the air, on a wire or the sail of a windmill, the protagonist was always heroic. Her dresses, bottoms and flowery hats suffered from every ordeal imaginable: climbing, abseiling, the improbable chasing of a cowboy all the way to a submarine, acrobatics on a plane in full flight. This cool actress has remained in the memory of Danish cinema as a "death-dodger".

Emilie Sannom had more than thirty or so films to her name. She started at the age of 23 in Apachepigens hævn (The revenge of the apache girl) in 1909, a film by Cal Alsrup. She also appeared in the comedy of manners København ved Nat where she performed a dishevelled primitive dance.
Her career was cut short tragically when her parachute refused to open during an air show in 1931.
