Cinema is rediscovered in Bologna...

The Cineteca di Bologna presents its 23rd Il Cinema Ritrovato festival and invites cinema lovers from around the world to Bologna.  Eight days and eight nights of film buff joy to try out:  a retrospective of Frank Capra's first films, cinema-concerts with restored films by Sergio Leone, Leo Mac Carey, King Vidor, Marcel L'Herbier... and as usual, hundred-year old films with a special tribute to Méliès.
 
European film libraries, partners of Europa Film Treasures will be well presented in Bologna with the film library of Toulouse and Gosfilmofond, which are combining their funds to present a programme of Russian films presenting Jewish actors, film makers and themes: Kinojudaïca. Furthermore, a programme on French cinema under the Vichy regime is offered by the French film Archives, also a partner of the website.
