Lumière 2009 Grand Lyon Film Festival

France, from 13 to 18 October
The Institut Lumière de Lyon is organising the first edition of its festival dedicated to the history of cinema.
Lumière 2009, with Clint Eastwood as the guest of honour, offers a number of retrospectives (Sergio Leone, Don Siegel, Shin Sang-ok), and screenings of recently restored films (La Bandera by Julien Duvivier -1935, Les Visiteurs du soir by Marcel Carné -1942).
 
A few headlining dates: 
    - Three cinema-concerts:
Praesidenten by Carl Theodor Dreyer (1918)
Tabu by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau (1931)
La Contessa Sara by Roberto Roberti (1919)
    - The screening of L'Enfer d'Henri-Georges Clouzot (Henri-Georges Clouzot's Inferno), or the legend of an unfinished film. A feature-length film by Serge Bromberg and Ruxandra Medrea, based on an original idea by Serge Bromberg. Release in France: 2009/11/11
    - "The Art of Noir": a selection of films noirs by major film directors of the genre, including:
The Prowler by Joseph Losey (1951)
Fly By Night by Robert Siodmak (1942)
